Camber Foundation Invests $1 Million across 25 Eastern North Carolina Nonprofits

Camber Foundation announces 25 grants totaling $1 Million to advance health & wellness, education, and economic development in Eastern North Carolina

Close to 250 Eastern North Carolina nonprofits applied for grants from Camber Foundation during its most recent open grant cycle. This overwhelming response is a testament to the dedication and vision shared by so many North Carolinians for a better future.

“In addition to being a basis for grantmaking, the proposals we receive are a valuable resource for our ongoing learning,” said Leslie Ann Jackson, president and CEO of Camber Foundation. “We hear the community voices in each one. We are listening, and we are deeply grateful to every applicant for sharing their first-hand, local insights and ideas with us. These grants are just the beginning.”

After thoughtful consideration, Camber Foundation is honored and thrilled to provide grants totaling $1 million to 25 remarkable organizations across Eastern North Carolina.

Eliminating Barriers

Camber Foundation’s grantmaking approach is grounded in the belief that Eastern North Carolina’s communities are brimming with ideas, creativity, and know-how, leading their communities towards a future where we all flourish. The 25 selected nonprofits are diverse in their missions, and yet they all work towards eliminating roadblocks that hinder their communities from accessing opportunities and resources. Through these grants, Camber aims to alleviate the financial barriers that face these organizations, empowering them to better serve others.

“We noticed and were moved by the distinct thread throughout the applications that these organizations, whether they are focused on healthcare, mental health services, postsecondary education, entrepreneurial growth, or a different area of service, are all dedicated to increasing access by removing the barriers that are keeping the people in their communities from thriving,” said Christopher Fipps, director of community investment, Camber Foundation.

Grantees

In line with Camber’s key philanthropic objectives, all grantees are dedicated to improving health and wellness through increased access to a broad spectrum of resources, advancing educational opportunities so that all students may reach their full potential, and bolstering the quality of life of families and individuals through economic development. All grant recipients serve Eastern North Carolina and have a physical presence in the region.
